The Enfield community is dealing with a massive wave of grief right now. Everyone is mourning the heartbreaking loss of David Csaszar, a 35-year-old local guy whose life was cut short over the weekend. It is the kind of sudden tragedy that leaves a neighborhood totally stunned.
David was well-loved by his family, friends, and neighbors. People who knew him remember him as someone who loved making real connections with others. His sudden passing leaves a deep, heavy sorrow in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of sharing memories with him.
The whole thing happened early Sunday morning on Interstate 91. According to the Connecticut State Police, the clock read roughly 3:41 a.m. when the emergency calls started coming in. The crash went down on the northbound side of the highway right near the Exit 37 on-ramp.
Investigators say David’s vehicle suddenly drifted off the road for reasons they are still trying to figure out. The car smashed hard into a metal guardrail on the right shoulder. That initial impact sent the vehicle careening wildly across all lanes of traffic.
It did not stop there. The car flew across the asphalt and slammed directly into a concrete barrier in the highway median. The force of that second collision caused the vehicle to flip completely over onto its side.
The situation turned even more perilous within moments. As the overturned car rested helplessly in the dark center lane, another oncoming vehicle plowed right into it. David was the only person inside his car, and emergency crews tragically pronounced him dead right at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle survived the wreck but suffered possible injuries during the collision. Right now, the Windsor and Enfield communities are leaning on each other for strength. State police are still digging into the details, and they want anyone with dashcam footage to contact Trooper First Class John Wilson.
