The online chats seemed simple enough. A casual message on social media, a quick back-and-forth, and a plan to meet up in person. But for several young women across metro Atlanta, those digital conversations turned into a horrifying real-world trap inside a quiet suburban apartment complex.
It started back on May 9 when a distraught woman walked into the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. She told officers she had connected with 19-year-old Treveon Hudson online and agreed to meet him. She traveled all the way to Flowery Branch, expecting a normal hangout. Instead, once inside his apartment, Hudson allegedly forced her into non-consensual sexual intercourse. Realizing the assault happened outside their town, Athens officers immediately handed the case over to local investigators in Flowery Branch.
Just six weeks later, the danger became visible right on the street. On June 24, Flowery Branch police officers spotted two young juvenile girls wandering near the entrance of the Tree Park Apartments. The girls looked completely lost and confused. When officers gently approached them, the frightened teenagers explained they were from Clayton County and had no idea where they were.
Police quickly figured out that Hudson and another man had picked the girls up after meeting them online. They brought them back to the complex, where one of the young girls was sexually assaulted by Hudson. Officers brought both juveniles to the station, got them safely back to their parents, and rushed the victim to a local medical center for an emergency examination.
By the next day, law enforcement had seen enough. On June 25, investigators secured arrest warrants charging Hudson with rape and child molestation, along with a search warrant for his home. Officers raided his unit at Tree Park Apartments and took him into custody without incident. But for the victims, the nightmare was far from over.
Another heartbreaking story surfaced on July 8. An Atlanta-area hospital contacted Flowery Branch detectives after a teenage girl arrived seeking help for an assault that happened back in March. She explained that she had met 21-year-old Amari Harrison of Suwanee on social media. She agreed to hang out, but when Harrison arrived, Hudson was with him. The two men drove her to Hudson’s apartment and allegedly raped her together.
These young women came from different communities—from Athens-Clarke County, Clayton County, and across the greater Atlanta area—all connected by the same painful experience. Detectives know how hard it is for survivors to step forward after such trauma. Because these assaults spanned multiple months and different online platforms, authorities strongly suspect other young women may have suffered in silence.
