The 56-year-old local business owner lost her life after a violent head-on collision on Saturday afternoon. It is a heartbreaking situation that has left everyone completely shattered.
The terrible accident went down in Jackson Township. State troopers received the emergency call around 3:55 p.m. They rushed out to U.S. Route 50 near the Smokey Road intersection. When responders arrived, they found a devastating scene with heavy vehicle damage.
Kim was a beloved figure in the local area. She was the broker and owner of Boyer Territory, a successful real estate company in Hillsboro. She was also a dedicated member of the Southern Ohio Association of REALTORS. Neighbors knew her for her constant kindness and her deep commitment to helping clients.
The initial crash investigation shows a sad sequence of events. An 18-year-old driver named Conner Hodge was traveling northeast on U.S. Route 50 in a Toyota Corolla. For reasons still unknown, his car drifted left of center. The vehicle smashed directly into Kim’s Nissan Frontier as she headed southwest.
The force of the head-on collision was immense. Paramedics rushed Kim to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Sadly, her injuries were just too severe for her to pull through. Doctors pronounced her dead a short time later.
Kim was not alone in her truck during the crash. Two juvenile passengers were riding along with her. Both children suffered injuries and had to be transported to local hospitals for medical care. The teenage driver of the Corolla was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
