With profound sadness and heavy hearts, family, friends, and members of the Shreveport community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Chuckie Brooks, 57, whose life ended following a tragic vehicle crash on Linwood Avenue Thursday afternoon.
According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on July 16, 2026, in the 6100 block of Linwood Avenue. Authorities said Brooks was caught in the middle of a domestic violence incident when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle.
Emergency crews from the Shreveport Fire Department responded to the scene and worked to rescue Brooks from his vehicle. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment of his injuries, where medical teams fought to save his life. Sadly, he later succumbed to his injuries at approximately 7:35 p.m.
An autopsy has been ordered as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. The case remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.
