Imagine heading out for a normal morning cruise on your bike and never making it back home. That is exactly what happened to Sean Jordan, a 36-year-old guy from Rome, New York. His life was cut incredibly short on a recent Thursday morning.
The tragedy took place in Utica, a city located in Oneida County right in the heart of central New York. It sits about 50 miles east of Syracuse. The local roads there are usually busy with commuters just trying to start their workday.
It was right around 9:05 a.m. when everything went wrong. Sean was riding his motorcycle on the Oriskany Street ramp, which connects directly to Route 12.
For some reason, Sean suddenly lost control of his motorcycle. In a split second, the bike veered off the pavement and struck a guardrail alongside the road.
Witnesses immediately called for help, and emergency crews rushed to the scene. Officers from the Utica Police Department and firefighters arrived within minutes to find Sean heavily injured.
First responders did not waste any time. They immediately started providing emergency medical aid right there on the side of the ramp to keep him stable.
An ambulance quickly transported Sean to Wynn Hospital for urgent treatment. The medical staff inside the emergency room immediately took over and launched intense life-saving efforts.
Sadly, the injuries from the crash were just too severe. Sean succumbed to his injuries at the hospital later that day, leaving a local community completely heartbroken by the sudden loss.
