Amy Tatlock was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family. Her sudden loss has left the small town of Corinth completely heartbroken. A routine drive turned into a nightmare when a severe thunderstorm rolled through Penobscot County on Thursday afternoon.
She was only 49 years old when her life was cut short around 1:15 p.m. Amy was driving down Main Street, which locals know as Route 15, when a massive tree branch broke loose. The heavy branch crashed right through her windshield, causing fatal injuries.
Even though emergency crews rushed to the scene and did everything they could, Amy passed away. The freak accident has left her family and friends in absolute shock. Nobody expected a normal Thursday afternoon to end in such a terrible tragedy.
To her kids, Christian and Michaela, Amy was the absolute light of their lives. She lived for her children and her three beautiful grandkids, who loved calling her “nana.” Being a grandmother brought Amy some of the purest joy in her life.
Beyond her own doorstep, Amy spent more than twenty years giving back to the community. She was a dedicated Girl Scouts troop leader who spent decades mentoring young girls. Whenever a local organization needed an extra hand, Amy was always the first to step up.
Now, the community she spent a lifetime supporting is trying to wrap its head around the loss. Neighbors and friends are rallying around the Tatlock family during this unimaginable time. A local fundraiser has already been set up to help her kids cover the sudden funeral costs.
