Kristin Delaney was just out enjoying a beautiful Saturday night on the water with her friends and family. She was forty-six years old and lived in Mobile, Alabama. Nobody expected that a calm evening cruise would end in a massive, heartbreaking disaster that shook the entire local community.

The crash happened right around eight-ten in the evening on July 18, 2026. Kristin was riding as a passenger on a twenty-seven-foot 2024 Albury Brothers boat. Everything changed in a single second when another large vessel smashed directly into them on the Intra-Coastal Waterway near Wolf Bay.

The impact was incredibly violent and left Kristin with critical, life-threatening injuries. Emergency crews rushed to the scene to pull the victims out of the wreckage. They hurried Kristin straight to South Baldwin Hospital, but her injuries were just too severe, and she was later pronounced dead.

There were actually sixteen people out on the water caught up in this horrible accident. Kristin’s boat alone had eight people on board. Drew Delaney, who is forty-nine and also from Mobile, was the one driving the Albury Brothers boat when the two vessels collided.

Another passenger on Kristin’s boat, fifty-one-year-old Brooks Delaney from Fairhope, was seriously hurt too. The emergency workers had to transport him all the way to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, so he could get treated for his injuries.

The second boat involved was a twenty-three-foot 2013 Key West vessel that was also packed with eight people. Its driver, Cameron Neil, and three of his passengers from Louisiana were all injured and required immediate hospital care after the sudden impact.

Everyone who managed to survive the crash without injuries was taken over to The Wharf docks in Orange Beach along with both damaged boats. Right now, the Marine Patrol Division of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is still investigating exactly how this awful tragedy happened.
