It all happened around 9:00 p.m. along Meridian Avenue, near 109th Street North. The location sits just north of Valley Center Township in Sedgwick County. Guerrero was riding his motorcycle southbound down the road when something went terribly wrong. For reasons that are still unclear, his Harley drifted into the northbound lanes and came to a stop right in the middle of the roadway.
At that exact moment, a northbound Toyota RAV4 was heading up the same stretch of Meridian Avenue. The 68-year-old woman driving the SUV had virtually no time to react as the vehicle collided with both Guerrero and his motorcycle lying in the lane. The force of the impact was overwhelming, leaving the scene in complete disarray under the dark night sky.
