The quiet early morning hours on Southern Boulevard took a tragic turn this past Saturday. Around 5 a.m., 33-year-old Eury Abreu Herrera was riding his 2023 Suzuki GSXR-1000 down the road when a sudden crash took his life in seconds.
Eury was traveling westbound on Southern Boulevard, a main east-west stretch through West Palm Beach. He was riding through the 8100 block, a familiar corridor used by drivers all across Palm Beach County.

Without warning, a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado pulled out from a parking lot at 8199 Southern Boulevard. Instead of turning into the nearest lane, the pickup swung wide right across all lanes of traffic, blocking Eury’s path.
Eury could not stop in time. His motorcycle crashed into the left rear corner of the pickup truck. The force of the impact threw him off the bike and tossed him clear into the eastbound lanes.
First responders rushed to the scene on Southern Boulevard, but there was nothing they could do. Deputies pronounced Eury dead right there on the road at 5:06 a.m., just minutes after the impact.
Deputies later noted that Eury was not wearing a helmet at the time of the wreck. The driver of the truck managed to pull over safely near the median and was not hurt.
Crash investigators noted that drugs and alcohol were factors in the wreck, though sheriff’s deputies haven’t said who was impaired. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is still working through the details as the community mourns Eury’s death.
