A typical weekend drive in Northeast Arkansas turned tragic when a 22-year-old woman lost her life in a sudden crash at a rural intersection. Abigale Rory Dullenty, a resident of Russellville, died following a heavy two-vehicle collision that shook up local residents.
The wreck took place on a bright Saturday morning at the busy crossing where State Highway 230 meets U.S. Highway 63 in Bono. Abigale was behind the wheel of her 2011 Ford Focus, heading eastbound along Highway 230 around mid-morning.
According to preliminary reports from the Arkansas State Police, Abigale approached the highway junction just as traffic was moving along the main corridor. For reasons investigators are still looking into, her Ford Focus failed to yield at the posted stop sign.
She pulled straight out across Highway 63, right into the path of oncoming northbound traffic. A 2024 GMC Sierra pickup truck was driving up the outside lane of the highway at that exact moment.
The driver of the truck, 21-year-old Dawson Kane Stewart of Monette, could not avoid the sudden crossover. The front end of his GMC Sierra slammed directly into Abigale’s sedan right inside the intersection.
The force of the impact pushed both vehicles clear off the asphalt. They skidded off the northeast corner of the highway and came to a stop in an open roadside field.
First responders rushed out to the scene in Craighead County, but Abigale was pronounced dead on site by local officials. Emergency crews treated Dawson for his injuries before transporting him over to St. Bernard’s Medical Center in nearby Jonesboro.
State Trooper Daniel C. Willey investigated the crash and noted that road conditions were completely dry with partly cloudy skies. As state police finish up their final review, friends and family back in Russellville are left remembering Abigale and grieving a young life ended far too soon.
